Please read these terms and conditions ("Terms") carefully before using The Next Slice mobile application (the "App") operated by Petr Novak ("us", "we", or "our").

By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the App.

1. Use of the app

The App is a curated directory of authentic Neapolitan pizza places. It is provided for personal, non-commercial use.

  • You agree not to misuse the App or help anyone else do so.
  • Content: The photos and place descriptions within the App are curated by us. While you may suggest places, you cannot directly publish content visible to other users without our approval.
  • Accuracy: While we strive to keep opening hours and details accurate (updating them regularly), we cannot guarantee that all information is 100% correct at all times. We are not responsible for a closed pizzeria or a disappointing pizza.
  • Guest Mode: The App may offer a limited-time "Guest Mode" or trial period allowing access to features without a subscription. We reserve the right to modify or terminate this mode at any time.

2. Apple App Store terms

  • This App is distributed through the Apple App Store. Your use of the App is also subject to Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (EULA), available at: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
  • In the event of any conflict between these Terms and Apple's EULA, Apple's EULA shall prevail with respect to your use of the App Store and purchase transactions.

3. User accounts

To access certain features, you may be required to create an account using Apple Sign In or Email authentication.

  • Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activities that occur under your account.
  • Anonymous Accounts: If you use the App without signing in (e.g., after subscription purchase), an anonymous account may be created for you. You can later link this to an email or Apple ID to preserve your data across devices.
  • Account Deletion: You may delete your account and associated data at any time through the App's settings under "Privacy & Security". Upon deletion, your data is permanently removed from our servers in accordance with our privacy policy.

4. Subscriptions ("Supporter" tier)

The App offers an optional auto-renewable subscription called "The Next Slice Supporter".

  • Pricing: The subscription is priced at €3.99 per year (symbolic pricing to support development). The exact price is calculated in your local currency based on your App Store region and is displayed within the App at the time of purchase.
  • Payment: Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at the confirmation of purchase.
  • Renewal: The subscription automatically renews unless it is canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
  • Management: You can manage and cancel your subscriptions by going to your account settings on the App Store after purchase.
  • No Refunds: Refunds for subscriptions are handled exclusively by Apple according to their refund policies. We cannot issue refunds directly.
  • Access: A valid subscription (or active trial/guest mode) is required to access the full content of the App.

5. Intellectual property

The App and its original content (excluding user suggestions), features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Petr Novak. The App is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws of both the Czech Republic and foreign countries.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Petr Novak be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (i) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the App; or (ii) any conduct or content of any third party on the App.

7. External links

The App may contain links to third-party websites (e.g., pizzeria websites, Instagram profiles, Google Maps) that are not owned or controlled by us. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites.

8. Governing law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the Czech Republic, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. As a consumer, you may benefit from certain mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which you are resident. Nothing in these Terms affects your rights as a consumer to rely on such mandatory provisions of local law.

The competent courts for any disputes are located in Prague, Czech Republic.

9. Changes

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.
